IT WILL BE a sneak preview of what the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters have in store for the upcoming Cebu School Atlhetic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) season when they face off with Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras in the “Match of the Titans” this July 12 at the Cebu Coliseum.
The matchup was formally launched yesterday at the Sunburst Restaurant in One Mango Avenue by the University of Cebu Law Students Society (UCLASS), headed by its President, former UC Webmaster Kenneth Kernn Sesante
“We chose this project with the advise of our dean (Atty. Baldomero C. Estenzo) to raise funds for our upcoming activities in the College of Law because not only will it help us generate funds but also serve as a window to what the UC Webmasters have is in store for the upcoming CESAFI season,” Sesante said
Meanwhile, UC coach Rhoel Gomez said this year will be the year for them as his players have reached their maturity and they have top caliber recruits.
Playing for the first time for the UC will be the two Filipino-Canadians Kieth Cayanong and Vfranz Bernil—both standing six feet tall.
“Kulang man ang UC ug big point guard before although maayo modula si Kevin Juliane, usahay ma alkansi man siya tungod gamay siya” Sesante said.
Along with Cayanong and Bernil, the other new recruits are Mark Tano from Mindanao and Reynan Capoy from the UC Webmasters Juniors team.
Tickets for the event are pegged at P40 for ringside, P20 for lowerbox and P10 for the general admission. /Correspondent ISte Leopoldo
