Multi-titled sportsman Jonathan Guardo believes that IBF/IBO flyweight champ Nonito Donaire Jr will come out victorious when he goes up in weight and take on Mexican Hugo Cazares for the interim WBA superflyweight crown.

That fight is set for Aug. 15 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will feature another world title bout in this event promoted by Top Rank.

"Junjun (Donaire) will pretty much handle Cazares, who is himself a capable ex-world champion. Donaire's skills and power is too much to handle by anybody in those weight classes," said Guardo, who is on top of Uniherb, maker of Arthro Kontra Arthritis which Donaire endorses.

Donaire is coming off a fourth-round technical knockout over the erstwhile undefeated Raul Martinez at the Araneta Coliseum in April to defend his titles, and is looking forward to an impressive entry into the superflyweight ranks.

"Although he is now ranked in the top 10 of the world's best pound-for-pounf fighters, the world has yet to see the best of Nonito Donaire," added Guardo, who was at ringside when superstar Manny Pacquiao demolished Ricky Hatton recently, and plans to be at ringside for the Donaire fight as well as the Pacquiao fight in November.

Promoter Bob Arum has loaded the August 15 card with an explosive line-up of bouts, where two or three other Filipino fighters are slated to also see action.

The co-feature will see WBO featherweight king Steven Luevano defending his title against Filipino Bernabe Concepcion in the other 12-round tiff.

ALA fighter Mark Jason Melligen, fresh off a second-round destruction of Fabian Luque this weekend in Mexico, is also set to trade punches with a soon-to-be-announced opponent.

Another Filipino, Marvin Tampos, is also set to fly to the US in early July to serve as sparmate for Donaire and possibly see action in the undercard./Correspondent Salven Lagumbay
