MANILA, Philippines - Some of the world's top shooters are seeing action in the 9th Demetrio “Bolo” Tuason Cup NCR Area Championship slated June 26 to 28 at the Armscor Shooting Ranges in Marikina City.

A strong United States team heads the countries vying in the shootfest. Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as the US state of Hawaii and Hong Kong have also confirmed their participation.

The US squad includes Filipino-Americans such as international ace KC Eusebio.

Former world champions Jethro Dionisio and Jag Lejano banner the powerhouse Philippine side in the event held in honor of Demetrio Tuason, chair and president of Arms Corp. of the Philippines.

Tournament chair and Armscor SVP Gina Marie Angangco, along with shooter and match director Bob Sajot, discussed the international competition in Tuesday's PSA Forum at Shakey’s UN Avenue branch.

Angangco said titles will be disputed in the senior, junior, ladies, media and celebrities classes.

Filipino shooters will use the shootfest to gear up for the next World Shooting Championship in Greece, Sajot told the session sponsored by Shakey’s, Accel, the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) and Outlast Battery.

Filipinos stamped their class in the last world meet by bagging 40 medals.
