HAPEE Toothpaste bigwig Jack Huang celebrated the triumph of Hapee Online Basketball Camp graduate Mark Jayven Tallo, who won the Jr. National Basketball Association (NBA) Philippines MVP award, in a press conference yesterday at the Casa Verde along F. Ramos St.

Tallo, was heads and shoulders above the rest of the 40-player field in the national camp which was held last February 27 at the Jose Rizal University Gym in Mandaluyong City. He will be joining two other Cebuanos in the six-man Jr. NBA Philippine team that will travel to New Jersey and New York in April to compete against other Jr. NBA squads. The other two Cebuanos are Gabriel Araw-Araw and Adrian Muller.

“We are here to recognize the accomplishment of Mark Jayven Tallo and to encourage others to participate in the Hapee Online Basketball Camp. The product really speaks for itself. Mark (Tallo) is really delivering basketball fundamentals to future stars,” said Huang.

Tallo is the 15-year old son of former PBA player Mark Tallo. He set the Cesafi juniors basketball competition on fire last year by making it to the Mythical Five squad in just his first year of action for the Cebu Institute of Technology Wildkittens.

The basketball camp's Level 1 is set to start on April 1 at the Cogon Ramos Gym while Level 2 will follow on May 1. Training runs from 8 am to 11 am. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
