A lean but mean Cebu City Karatedo Team captured four gold medals, two silvers and 2 bronzes in the 3rd National Philippine Olympic Festival held at the 4th floor of the Gaisano Mall in Cagayan de Oro City on December 13-14.

Leading the Cebuanos' charge was Sidney Earl Metante who swept the gold medals in kata (forms) and kumite (sparring) competitions in the 12 to 13 year-old category for boys.

Metante is the youngest of the famous karatedo siblings. His elder brood, Lutche, Erlando Jr., and Sugar Rey are all members of the Philippine National Karatedo Team who won medals during the 24th Southeast Asian Games in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The city's other winners include; Korina Keith Enclona who captured the gold medal in the kata event for girls 12-13 year-old category; Philip Joshua Famador who collared the gold medal in the kata event and bronze in kumite for boys 11-12 years old; Alexhis Enad who bagged silver medals for kata and kumite in the 14-15 age bracket for girls and Erkhimlord Labura who won a bronze medal in the boys 7 years old-and-below division.

The team is coached by Shihan Erlando Metante Sr.
