Multi-titled Merlita Arias and Crifrankreadel Indapan ruled the Open division of the 2nd Pink October Run on Sunday, which started and ended at the Cebu Doctor?s University (CDU) Hospital Gymnasuim at Capitol Site.
Arias clocked 47:58 to top the women?s open while finishing second was Sharon Vega, who had a 50:02 time. Jennifer Belocura wound up third after clocking in at 51:27.
Arias, who placed second in the Mount Mayon trail run in Legaspi City last Sunday, said she was happy she finished the race on top and was honored to run along with Dr. Yong Larrazabal, Cebu City Vice Mayor Mike Rama, sportsman Jonathan Guardo and Danao City Sports Commission Chairman Oscar ?Boying? Rodriguez.
In the men?s open, Indapan finished the 10k race with a time of 34:07 to rule the division. Eugene Delposo clocked in at 35:56 to finish second while Charlie Berberio took third place honors with a 38:07 time.
Meanwhile, Larrazabal topped the Men?s 10k Doctors? category after clocking 46:40 followed by Doctor Glen Cang (48:12) and Dr. Tommy Tan (48:18).
In the Female 10k Doctors? category, Dr. Emily Estrada took the first spot (59:05) followed by Dr. Yasmin Eunice Jumao-as (1:05:05) and Maureen Watson (1:06:43).
The 5k female category was topped by Melinda Ponce (28:41) while Meljun Luterte topped the 5k men?s category.
