WBO Intercontinental superbantam champion Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista will most likely see action in the November 22 card featuring British superstar Ricky Hatton against Paulie Malignaggi at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer, in a message to Cebu Daily News, has informed that Bautista will most likely be included in the card “because of our agreement with ABS-CBN.”
The television outfit owns the rights to broadcast the Hatton-Malignaggi showdown, and reports indicate that the giant network wants no less than Bautista to see action in the card.
Sportsman Antonio L. Aldeguer, in an interview at the ALA Gym yesterday, said that two names have been floated as possible opponent for Bautista on the card.
“Both names have good records, but we want the one who has the better record to fight Boom Boom,” Aldeguer said.
The younger Aldeguer, meanwhile, also informed that his other ward, Z “The Dream” Gorres, is also slated to face Jose “Carita” Lopez in the main event of a December 5 card, on the eve of the mammoth Oscar De la Hoya-Manny Pacquiao showdown.
Solar Sports, meanwhile, will air the De la Hoya-Pacquiao fight, with partner GMA-7 most likely airing the fight on free television.
