The legendary Oscar De la Hoya, a ten-time world champion, is looking fit and ready while his December 6 foe, superstar Manny Pacquiao, is looking heavy days as he plans to fly to Los Angeles to start heavy training for their “Dream Match” in Las Vegas.

Philboxing.com owner Dong Secuya, who is currently in Las Vegas covering the Joel Casamayor-Juan Manuel Marquez bout, reports that De la Hoya looks “very fit and trim” yesterday while hosting the final press conference of this Sunday's lightweight bout.

De la Hoya is co-promoting the Casamayor-Marquez fight, and is the lead promoter of his December 6 showdown with Pacquiao.

The Filipino boxing icon, meanwhile, now weighs around 154 lbs, some seven pounds above the welterweight limit, as he admits that he continues to eat anything without having to bother much on weight issues.

The weight, however, is expected to be shed off easily by the Pacman, as the Filipino boxing icon has a tremendous training habit that prompted trainer Freddie Roach to once quip nobody comes close to Pacquiao in training.

Roach had once served as De la Hoya's trainer for the Floyd Mayweather fight, and apparently the multi-awarded ring tactician considers Pacquiao a much better worker in the gym than De la Hoya.

“Sa ngayon po ay wala akong control sa pagkain ko dahil alam ko namang masusunog ko lahat ito sa training sa Wild Card Gym ni coach Freddie Roach. Sa ngayon, nasa 154 pounds ang timbang ko at wala pong problema sa pagkuha ng 147 pounds limit na siyang paglalabanan namin," Pacquiao said in his widely-read column at Philboxing.com.

Pacquiao is expected to fly to Los Angeles on Sunday, but will be in Cebu on Saturday for the blessing of a beautiful chapel he built in front of the gym owned by his close friend Rex 'Wakee" Salud in Labangon, Cebu.

Pacquiao is also expected to grace a boxing event he co-promotes with Salud in Pinamungajan town in Cebu in the evening.
