IBF flyweight champ Nonito Donaire's title defense has been moved from the Honda Center in Anaheim to the Mandalay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Nov. 1.
Top Rank's Lee Samuels, told Philboxing.com, “The date is still November 1 but the venue will be Mandalay Bay. Nonito will still be fighting his mandatory challenger.”
The Arthro Kontra Arthritis-sponsored Donaire will defend his title against mandatory challenger Moruti Mthalane of South Africa.
Sources indicate that Donaire vs Mthalane will be the main event of the card, which will feature Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in the undercard against Matt Vanda whom he beat via controversial fashion in their last fight.
A press conference will be held next week to announce the Mandalay Bay card.
Meanwhile, former WBC light-flyweight champ Brian Viloria will see action on September 25 as part of the card put up by Manny Pacquiao's MP Promotions and the Sycuan Resort Casino Hotel in El Cajon, California.
Viloria will face Mexican Javier Lagos in an 8-round superflyweight bout, as he aims to challenge IBF light-flyweight champ Ulises Solis sometime in December.
The other Filipinos seeing action in the card are Bernabe Concepcion who will take on Giovanni Caro in a 10 round super bantamweight fight.
