The 13th Milo Little Olympics officially opened with a bang yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center, participated by more than 200 schools and around 5,000 athletes.

Last year’s overall first placer in the elementary division Cebu City Central School had the biggest delegation while Colegio dela Inmaculada Concepcion (CIC) Cebu City was at second spot followed by the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R).

In the Secondary Division, Abellana National School had the biggest delegation followed by CIC-Cebu City and USJ-R.

HUGE TURNOUT

“We appreciate the enthusiasm of the people from the Visayas in sports,” Nestle Chairman and CEO Nandu Nandikishore said.

“Especially the Cebuanos for posting the most numbers of participants in every event Milo hosts like the recent 32nd Milo Marathon. It is a proof that Cebuano’s lifestyle is inline with what Nestle and Milo endorses.” he added

Nandikishore delivered his message during the opening along with Department of Education (DeEd) Region 7 Regional Director Recaredo Borgonia.

According to AVP and Milo Sports Excutive Pat Goc-ong, before the opening, Nandikishore was worried at first when he saw only four teams on the grounds of the venue.

However, when the parade of teams started and the crowd started to balloon in the grandstand, he was overwhelmed with the sight and was impressed of how well-organized and well participated the opening was.

He said it was a right decision of letting Cebu City host the first Milo National Olympics next year.
