THE BARANGAY Ginebra Gin Kings try to snag the first championship seat when they play the beleaguered Red Bull Barakos today in Game 4 of their PBA Fiesta Cup best-of-seven semifinal series at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Kings took a commanding 3-0 series lead after pulling off a 94-91 win in last Friday's Game Three.
The Barakos are in a very deep hole as no team has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit.
Last Friday's win was Ginebra's 11th straight, its longest winning streak in franchise history.
The Air21 Express, on the other hand, gun for a crucial 3-1 lead when they play the Magnolia Beverage Masters in the main game.
After losing Game One, the Express took the last two games of the series to go up, 2-1.
Gary David and Arwind Santos joined forces in the endgame to lead the the Express to a come-from-behind 82-78 win in Game Three.
“The boys have come of age. They’ve matured together. What’s only lacking is the result,” said Air21 coach Bo Perasol after the game.
A win today will bring the Express closer to their first-ever stint in the finals.
“This is no longer about game plan. I don’t see major adjustments from both sides the rest of the series. This is now all about desire and determination.” CORRESPONDENT CALVIN D.CORDOVA
