THE M. LHUILLIER-CEBU Niños bounced back from a sorry opening day loss, dumping the Trace Laguna Stallions, 105-68, last Thursday in the Pagadian leg of Liga Pilipinas Tour at the Pagadian City gym.
The Niños staged a mighty run in the third quarter to break-free from a tight battle in the first half.
Cebu took a slim 20-18 lead at the end of the first quarter and had the same two-point advantage at the half, 47-45.
Stephen Padilla led the Niños' onslaught by canning five triples en route to finishing a game-high 21 points.
The Niños, who lost to the Pagadian Explorers last Wednesday, 55-57, started the third period with a 20-5 run and was ahead, 77-59, going into the fourth.
Cebu held Laguna scoreless in a seven-minute stretch in the fourth and built a mammoth, 103-63, in the closing minutes.
The Explorers, on the other hand, nailed their second victory by downing the Misamis Oriental Meteors, 68-62.
In the Taguig leg over at the C.P. Tinga gym, the Lipa-Batangas stunned the Pampanga Buddies, 75-73. CORRESPONDENT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
