OPBF lightweight champ Randy 'Komong Bato' Suico's opportunity to see action on the June 28 Manny Pacquiao-David Diaz card may be put to waste following what his trainer says as 'visa problems' caused by an individual close to Top Rank's Bob Arum.
Juanito Ablaca, Suico's trainer, informed yesterday that Suico was not issued the US visa needed for his travel as he lacked the needed documents for a P1 visa.
Ablaca blamed a fight agent based in the US who is reportedly close to Bob Arum, as the one responsible for the mess that Suico is facing.
“We were asked $3,100 dollars for the P1 visa, why is he asking it from us?” Ablaca angrily asked yesterday.
The veteran trainer noted that Aaron Melgarejo and Dennis Laurente have already been furnished the needed papers for the US visa, but Suico was not given the same.
“If they look at credentials, who is Melgarejo and who is Laurente? Suico is more deserving than these two guys, why is he being given the runaround?” said Ablaca.
Ablaca hinted that the fight agent may have a hidden agenda in not giving Suico the necessary papers, noting that maybe he wants a share of Suico's purse.
“If he wants a percentage of Suico's purse, then he should talk to Suico's manager Joe Koizumi,” suggested Ablaca.
Even Rex 'Wakee' Salud, who arranged for Suico to see action in the card, is also reportedly seething mad at the fight agent, who is also blamed as the person behind the attempt to lure Bernabe Concepcion to fly to the US without the permission of his manager Aljoe Jaro.
