THREE teams try to rebound from separate losses when the 33rd PBA Fiesta Cup resumes today at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Air21 Express tackle the Coca-Cola Tigers in the first game, while sister-teams Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants and Magnolia Beverage Masters wage war against each other in the nightcap.
Air21, Coca-Cola and Magnolia lost their last outings but the three squads are still in the middle part of the standings.
Air21 lost to the Sta. Lucia Realtors last Sunday, 100-113; Coke succumbed to the Alaska Aces last Wednesday, 91-99; while Magnolia tasted a 92-99 loss at the hands of the Tigers last May 9.
In contrast, the Giants came from an 88-78 win over the Aces?a win that snapped a three-game skid.
The Tigers are tied with the Talk N Text Phone Pals at the second to third spots with identical 6-3 (win-loss) slates while the Express and the Beverage Masters occupy fifth and sixth with similar 4-4 records. The Giants are in seventh with a, 3-4 mark.
Today's competing teams have played each other already in the first round of elimination.
Last April 13, the Express nipped the Tigers, 102-95, while the Giants needed two overtimes before escaping the Beverage Masters, 127-126, last April 2.
In that win against Magnolia, Purefoods still had import Darius Rice who exploded for 56 points.
Purefoods has brought in new import Reda Rhalimi who debuted with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in 36 minutes of play against Alaska. /Correspondent Calvin Cordova
