Cebuano tennis ace Sally Mae Siso reasserted her supremacy in the country’s junior tennis scene after claiming two titles yesterday in the 2008 Guillermo Jose Sr. Memorial Tennis Cup at the Rizal Memorial tennis courts.
The double-entry Siso, claimed the crowns after beating Shanine Olivarez, 6-2, 6-2 in the 14-U finals and drubbing Macy Gonzales, 6-0, 6-4 in the 16-U division.
The dual victories is the first for Sally Mae this year following her successful stint in the 2007 Malaysia Junior Tennis Circuit in December last year where she swept all the eight gold medals at stake in the four-leg circuit. Siso won all g four singles and doubles crowns in that Malaysian sojourn.
Her easy wins also preserved her winning records against Olivarez and Gonzales which now improved to 5-0 and 4-0 respectively.
Meanwhile, Bernardine Siso preserved the siblings’ domination of the event by winning the gold in the boys 16-U level by beating Fritz Verdad, 6-1, 6-1 in the final.
Bernardine still has a chance to snatch his second title after advancing to the final round of the boys 18-U level after beating Marco Suntay, 6-2, 6-0 in the semis yesterday.
Bernardine will face Paul Magaway in the final round today at 9:00 am.
Meanwhile, Sallydine Siso is hoping to contribute her own harvest of title after advancing to the final round of the 18-U level at the expense of Enah Baba, 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinal round.
Sallydine on Friday lost to the younger SallyMae in the semis of the girls 16-U division. It was Sallydine’s fifth straight loss to Sally Mae.
Sallydine supported by Dunlop and University of San Carlos (USC) will face Jasmine Tan Ho in the finals today at 10 a.m.
