Sta. Lucia?s Kelly Williams and Red Bull's Junthy Valenzuela now have three weekly honors apiece as they were named the PBA Press Corps? Co-Players of the Week for the period of January 28 to February 3.
Williams and Valenzuela dished out splendid performances last week that allowed their respective teams to keep in step with their separate rivals in the ongoing semifinal round of the 33rd PBA Philippine Cup.
Sta. Lucia's best-of-seven series with the Alaska Aces is tied at two games apiece as well as Red Bull's battle with the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants.
In the semis, Williams is averaging 24.6 points, 13.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
In Sta. Lucia's 80-93 loss to the Aces last Sunday, Williams completed his 15th double-double performance this conference by finishing with 23 points and 13 rebounds.
Williams and Air21's Arwind Santos are now tied for the most double-double performances this conference.
Although it is Cyrus Baguio who is leading Red Bull in scoring, it is the endgame heroics of Valenzuela that has been sealing victories for the Barakos.
