CALAMBA POLL RECOUNT

BARANGAY captain Victor Quijano of barangay Calamba, Cebu City may have won the last Oct. 25, 2010 elections but in the recounting of ballots done in court, he lost by 32 votes to opponent Esther Concha.

Municipal Trial Court in Cities Judge Monalilia Tecson of Branch 1 has yet to issue her decision on the election protest by Concha against Quijano. The recounting of ballots was witnessed by the parties.

In an interview yesterday, Acosta said the recounting was supervised by her clerk of court. The judge said there are some ballots which are being questioned by the parties.

Acosta said she was supposed to decide on the case but the Comelec has prohibited her from conducting further proceedings.
