ECOLOGY lawyers belittled the final report of an ad hoc committee on the Balili property purchase scheduled to come out sometime this week.
Lawyer Gloria Estenzo-Ramos said the report was a mere ?legal audit? of an investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Capitol land deal.
?They will not recommend the filing of complaints against those who are responsible for the transactions because it might lead to someone who constituted the (investigating) body,? Ramos said in reference to Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia.
Garcia created the ad hoc committee to look into allegations of corruption in the purchase of a 24.7 hectare beach front property owned by the late Engr. Luis Balili in barangay Tina-an, Naga City, Cebu in 2008.
Capitol spokesman Rory Jon Sepulveda said the governor will disclose the committee report which she received last Thursday.
Ramos said they are more interested in pursuing their case against the coal ash dump facility in Naga City.
Ecology lawyers opposed the agreement between the Capitol and Korean Electric Co.-Salcon Power Corp. (KSPC) for a coal ash dumping facility in Naga City.
They reiterated that impropoer coal ash disposal poses a serious threat on the environment and the health of the affected communities.
