CEBu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia yesterday sternly warned various event organizers planning to hold shows in Bantayan Island during the Holy Week to do away with ?lewd? shows.
The governor issued the warning during a closed-door meeting at the Capitol with the event organizers.
?I have ordered our police to arrest any person that will be involved in any vulgar, indecent, and obnoxious behavior during the observance of the Holy Week and so I challenged the organizers as well as the sponsors to think of more positive activities rather than just limit themselves to lewd shows,? Garcia told reporters after the meeting.
?And certainly I will not hesitate to file charges against the performers, even the audience that will be apprehended and arrested. And the event organizers, the resort owners and the event sponsors, the product endorsers,? the governor added.
Among the activities discussed include sports activities rather than a concert, said Cebu Provincial Police Office director Erson Digal. He said that music concerts would no longer be allowed.
