TWO supporters of a Kusug south district bet for councilor accused a former driver of barangay Basak San Nicholas captain George Rama of harassment.
Dave Santiago and John Gregory Cabillo, supporters of Raul Recoredo ?Deo? Del Rosario, Kugi Uswag Sugbo (Kusug) candidate for councilor, alleged that the driver poked a gun at them while they were about to post Kusug's campaign posters on Wednesday.
Barangay Baska San Nicholas is a bailiwick of the Ramas and the administration, Del Rosario said.
Santiago, 20 and Cabillo, 18, both residents of barangay Basak San Nicholas, identified the suspect as a certain ?Ryan? who was known to be a former driver of Rama.
They said that at past noon on Wednesday, they passed by a group of men drinking along the road in sitio Pnaghiusa and brought with them posters of Jonathan Guardo, Kusug's south district congressional candidate, and other bets for councilor.
While they were passing by, a certain Ryan called their attention and asked what they were carrying.
?Unsa na? Magpapilit mo? Basin magmahay lang mo kon modayon mog papilit (What is that? Are you going to paste posters? If you pursue, you might regret),? Ryan told them.
Out of fear, Santiago and Cabillo proceeded to the next sitio. Upon reaching sitio Toong, they were walking towards St. Arnold Jansen church at about 1 p.m. when they saw Ryan on a motorcycle.
?Pagkakita namu nila, dali mig lakaw, nasigpatan man nako nga nibunot og .38 or 45 nga pusil. (When we saw them, we immediately walked away. I saw him in just a glimpse take out a .38 or .45 caliber gun),? Cabillo said.
?Pag-ngon ni John nga nibunot og pusil, niingon ko, nga dagan ta John.(When John told me that Ryan took out a gun, I told John to run),? Santiago added.
But Ryan allegedly chased them while pointing a gun at them until they reached Del Rosario's house in sitio Seaside. They immediately got inside the house.
Del Rosario said he was at the Cebu City Sports Center when it happened and reported the incident to the Mambaling police station about 6 p.m.
He said that he received reports that Ryan was seen driving Rama's car. But Rama denied he has a driver named Ryan. He admitted that he had formed a team to tear down posters in the barangay.
