One Cebu party ‘reminds’ Liloan mayor of Gibo support

First Posted 07:20:00 03/09/2010

The administration One Cebu party is reminding anew its members to endorse Lakas-NUCD administration candidate Gilbert Teodoro as their presidential bet.

Capitol consultant Rory Jon Sepulveda said the reminder was issued following a statement of support issued by a key member to former president Joseph Estrada.

Sepulveda, also One Cebu spokesman, said he talked with Liloan Mayor Duke Frasco concerning his statement of support to Estrada who visited the town last week.

Frasco said he is endorsing Estrada's candidacy because of the projects implemented in Liloan during his administration.

Prior to yesterday's press conference, Sepulveda said he talked with Frasco by phone and didn?t see any problem on the situation.

?We will deal with him internally (within the party). But you know Duke is not only a member of One Cebu but also part of the family of the Garcias..so there would be no problem,? Sepulveda told CEBU DAILY NEWS.

Frasco is married to lawyer Cristina Garcia-Codilla, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia's daughter.

CEBU DAILY NEWS tried but was unable to contact Frasco by phone.

Sepulveda said their statement isn't directed at sanctioning Frasco or any One Cebu member.

?All those who are members of One Cebu are expected to tow this line. There might have been some communication lines that have been hazy. So now, we want to make it very clear,? the Capitol consultant said.

Sepulveda said those who continue to dissent from One Cebu's stand will be dealt with by their constitution and by-laws.

He said One Cebu had already announced its support of Teodoro in last year's convention.

Sepulveda also said Governor Garcia reiterated that One Cebu endorses the candidacy of incumbent Cebu 5th district Rep. Red Durano of the local Bakud party, which is aligned with their party.

For vice president and senatorial candidates, Sepulveda said town officials can still make their choices until such time that the administration party finalizes its list.
