DEMAND letters will be sent to members of the Regional Peace and Order Council in Central Visayas (RPOC-7) which have unpaid dues.
Negros Province, Cebu City and Mandaue City, had the highest unpaid dues, according to Cebu Provincial Treasurer Roy Salubre.
As of Feb. 26, Negros Oriental has a total accumulated dues of P400,000 after it failed to pay its annual contribution worth P100,000 in the past four years, said Salubre during the RPOC meeting at the Cebu Capitol presided by Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia.
Both the Cebu City and Mandaue City governments have unpaid dues of P300,000 each.
Garcia sought the help of RPOC secretariat and the Department of Interior and Local Government in Central Visayas (DILG-7) director Pedro Noval to inform the concerned local government units of their balances.
Overall, the total unpaid dues from RPOC members amounted to P3.25 million, according to the Cebu Capitol Treasurer data.
In his presentation during the meeting, Salubre said the RPOC has available funds amounting to P2.28 million including those deposited in banks.
Other LGUs with unpaid dues include Bohol (P200,000), Siquijor (P200,000), Danao City (P200,000), Talisay City (P200,000), Toledo City (P200,000), Lapu-Lapu City (P250,000), Dumaguete City (P250,000), Bais City (P200,000), Tanjay City (P200,00), Canlaon City (P150,000), and Tagbilaran City (P200,000).
