BANKING on the Cebuanos interest in their ?love team?, Gov. Gwen Garcia and running mate Glenn Soco have been visiting different cities and towns in Cebu province to campaign.
Soco told a crowd in Bogo City that he was aware that he is not very popular in the countryside and is a new face in Cebu's politics.
?Pero sigurado ko nga naka ila na mo sa akong ka love team,? said a grinning Soco. His remark jolted Garcia from her seat.
In an earlier interview, Garcia, who is seeking reelection, said that rumors of her alleged romantic involvement with Soco had worked to their advantage.
Rumors, she said, have made people interested in Soco, who is lagging behind re-electionist Vice Gov. Gregorio Sanchez Jr. of the Liberal Party (LP).
But she was confident that survey results would change in time for the May 10 election.
In their Bogo City rally, Soco told the crowd that a man had called his attention when they arrived in the area.
The man, he said told him he does not usually believe radio reports about him and the lady governor.
Soco said the man then asked him ?tinood nga uyab mo??
?Ug kamo naa sa akong lugar mo balibad kaha mo?? said a grinning Soco, but added that such a rumor is not true.
?Ug kung tinood man, ngano man diay?? said Soco sending the crowd to laughter.
When it was her turn to speak, Garcia told the crowd she was especially campaigning for Soco.
?Ato gyud siya tabangan nga ato siyang himoon nga sunod nga bise governador, Garcia said.
