ACTOR and vice presidential aspirant Edu Manzano was there but he didn't get the star treatment or endorsement of the One Cebu party, headed by Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia.
He showed up with a One Cebu t-shirt but wasn't acknowledged on stage when he entered or endorsed as the party's choice.
The candidate was mobbed at the entrance of the summit hall of the CICC, while a party election was going on. He quietly left a few minutes later.
Was he a gate-crasher? No, but technically he was not invited, said One Cebu spokesman Rory Jon Sepulveda, who explained that the party has yet to decide whom to support for vice president and senators.
Manzano was actually looking for Teodoro who arrived earlier in the venue and was in a holding room awaiting his turn on stage. Manzano was courteous and let the program proceed without forcing himself, Sepulveda said. Sepulveda said Manzano was told to just mingle with the crowd once the program is over, which he did.
If Manzano failed to get an endorsement from One Cebu, he was able to get one from Lapu-Lapu mayor Arturo Radaza, who plans to run for congress.
Manzano was met by Radaza, wife Paz and 29 of 30 barangay captains at the Waterfront Hotel in Lapu-Lapu before flying back to Manila yesterday afternoon.
The Radazas assured Manzano that they would support the administration tandem with Gibo Teodoro. Teodoro was not at the meeting.
