THE fight over whose basketball goal should be placed in barangay Luz continues. Yesterday, it was sitio Kalinao's turn with the youth asked to pull out the goals donated by barangay Lahug captain Mary Ann delos Santos and change it with basketball goals from the Cebu City government.
Julius Tuico, the brother of the president of the sitio's youth association, said about 15 men of barangay Luz captain Nida Cabrera arrived bringing with them two sets of basketball goals and boards.
Tuico said the men asked them to pull out Delos Santos goals.
The youths refused. No trouble happened as the men left a few minutes later leaving the two goals beside each goal of delos Santos.
Opposition Barangay Luz councilor Patrick Talisaysay said said Delos Santos goals were donated last October.
Talisaysay said the youths both sent letter requests to Cabrera and Delos Santos.
Delos Santos responded to the request first.
Talisaysay said Cabrera told him last Monday to remove Delos Santos goals and put the administration's goals.
He however said that the youth of the sitio wanted Delos Santos goals to be used instead because they were the first to answer their request.
Tuico said yesterday that his group would stop anybody who would remove Delos Santos's goals which was worth P40,000.
