PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is attending the launch of the new Roll on-roll off link, locally known as Roro, in southern Cebu.
The Roro link, one of the flagship projects of the Arroyo administration, will be from Samboan town in Cebu to Dapitan in Zamboanga del Norte.
The launch of the Samboan-Dapitan route would be manned by Lite Shipping Corporation, owned by Lucio Lim.
The activity which begins at 1:30 p.m will be attended by Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, Rep. Pablo Garcia (Cebu, 2nd) and Cebu Ports Authority general manager Angelo Verdan, said Fayette Riñen of the Philippine Information Agency Central Visayas office.
?There will be a reception party, with a short program at the wharf and a welcome address by the governor,? said Riñen.
President Arroyo will arrive from Dumaguete City of Negros Oriental which was called the touch down point because the site is near Samboan.
The trip to Cebu would be the seventh or eighth of the president this year, Riñen. Editoial Assistant Ma. Bernadette A. Parco
