ASK outgoing Cebu City Rep. Antonio Cuenco now who he is supporting for the presidential race and he will nod at whoever President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is choosing.
“I reiterate my support for her administration and I will support whatever will be her decision in politics,” Cuenco told CEBU DAILY NEWS.
He issued the statement a day after being endorsed by Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia for an ambassador's post in one of two Philippine embassy offices in Italy.
Before that a Malacañang official phoned him to ask about press reports quoting him as supporting Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
Cuenco, who has openly identified himself as a family friend of the Aquinos, landed on the national headlines recently when he said that majority of administration congressmen silently support Noynoy.
Cuenco said he was also asked by the Palace if he is supporting Cebu Provincial Governor Gwendolyn Garcia. The latter has yet to announce which presidential candidate she lining up with.
Garcia’s father Deputy Speaker Pablo Garcia has already declared his support for Lakas-Kampi administration bet Gilbert Teodoro.
