Eyelid stitches are gang leader’s ID

First Posted 06:27:00 11/07/2009

HIS relatives confirmed robbery gang leader Alvin Flores had stiches on his eyelids.

Flores body was finally identified and claimed by his relatives from a funeral parlor in Cebu City. His dead cohorts Mark Salamanca and Roger Sanches were cremated yesterday.

Manila-based lawyer Cayetano Santos, who came to Cebu, was hired by the Flores and Salamanca families to identify the slain suspects for a decent burial.

Santos explained that the family of the two suspected robbers have no plan to seek legal action against National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents. The suspects were among fur men killed during an NBI operation last October 29 in Estaca, Compostela town.

Facial surgery

The doctor who allegedly performed plastic surgery on Flores, Dr. Dominador Pedracio, is a general and licensed cosmetic surgeon who owns the Clinica de Antipolo. He said Flores used an alias and pretended to be gay, when he sought the procedure.

The surgeon surfaced Friday at the NBI headquarters in Manila. He refused to answer media queries and insisted he was there on the invitation of NBI-DDIS chief and lawyer Ruel Lasala and that he would only speak about the case to the official and show him the medical records of Flores.

Rubout angle

The NBI in Central Visayas (NBI-7) is willing to cooperate with the probe conducted by the Commission on Human Rights in Central Visayas (CHR-7) to determine whether a shootout or a rubout took place in Compostela.

Medardo de Lemos, NBI-7 director, said they will subject themselves to any investigation by any agency.

Dr. Rene Cam, medico-legal officer of NBI-7, yesterday released a partial autopsy report he conducted on the four cadavers.

He said Alvin Flores had four gunshot wounds on the body.

Ritchie Hijapon had only one gunshot wound on the head. Roger Sanchez had two and Mark Salamanca sustained four gunshot wounds on their bodies.

Cam will release the complete autopsy report on Monday. reporter ADOR VINCENT S. MAYOL and correspondent Chito O. Aragon
