DUE to gross neglect, students of the Bartolome and Manuela National High School in barangay Poblacion, Barili town were forced to hold classes at their school stage following a fire that damaged two of their rooms last Thursday dawn.
PO3 Job Sarveda of the Barili police precinct placed the damages at 875,000 consisting mostly of plastic chairs, school books and assorted school paraphernalia.
The rooms that were damaged by the fire were occupied by the second and third year students.
The fire originated in one of the two rooms of the high school building located a kilometer away from the fire station and police precinct.
Residents near the school told police that they saw sparks inside one of the rooms followed by an explosion that caused the fire.
Sarveda said misuse of electric wirings was blamed for the incident.
The fire started at 12:35 a.m and ended an hour later. Correspondent Fe Marie D. Dumaboc
