MANILA, Philippines -- So who is Loren?s political suitor?

Sen. Loren Legarda, the vice presidential aspirant of the Nationalist People?s Coalition (NPC), said she would announce the presidential bet, with whom she would campaign in the 2010 elections, within the next two weeks.

The only remaining major opposition presidential aspirants who still have not announced their vice-presidential running-mates are Sen. Manuel Villar of the Nacionalista Party and Legarda?s former NPC colleague, Sen. Francis ?Chiz? Escudero, now an independent.

The chances of her reconciling with Escudero were slim, she earlier said, adding that he had not even called since he bolted the NPC on Wednesday.

Deposed president Joseph Estrada, who was reported to be wooing Legarda earlier, had said that he had already committed to a tandem with Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay.

She earlier turned down a reported offer to run with Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro of the administration-backed Lakas-Kampi-CMD party, stressing she would remain with the opposition and the NPC.

With less than a month before the deadline for the filing of the certificates of candidacy, Legarda, however, said she was confident she would be able to find a suitable running-mate.

?I hope so and I think so and I believe so, ? Legarda said.

As to who it would be, the senator remained tight-lipped.

Legarda said the announcement would be made after her relief missions for victims of the recent typhoons.

?We?ll have that within the next two weeks because we still have a climate change hearing in Sta. Cruz, Laguna (on Nov. 4) and will continue our relief operations. We also have humanitarian missions for all the (internal refugees) in Maguindanao," Legarda said.
