FOUR people who were wanted for different crimes were collared in three barangays in Cebu City yesterday morning.
The operation conducted in barangays San Roque, Ermita amd Carreta yesterday was aimed at netting “hidden criminals” who had pending arrest warrants, said Senior Insp. Michael Bastes.
“We should really catch these people so that they can no longer commit crimes,” said Bastes, head of the Cebu City Police Office’s Theft and Robbery Section (TRS), which led the operations.
Elements from the TRS, along with the Theft and Robbery Auxiliary Force and the Barangay Intelligence Network, raided the home of Emerson “Indong” Datullas and Jonathan “Tata” Pantollano on Palma Street in barangay San Roque about 5 a.m. yesterday.
Both men are wanted for murder, a non-bailable offense.
Their arrests were based on warrants issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Soliver Peras of Branch 10.
Shortly thereafter, police arrested Roy Fajardo in barangay Carreta for robbery charges.
Regional Trial Court Judge Gabriel Ingles of branch 50 issued the arrest warrant for Fajardo. A bail of P40,000 had been set.
Around 9 a.m., Joel Pagador fell to the same team in barangay Ermita.
He had pending robbery charges before Regional Trial Court Judge Generosa Labra of Branch 23. His bail was set at P100,000.
Bastes said these four were tagged as the ones responsible for several recent robberies in Cebu City.
Bastes said the operation should send a message to other wanted criminals: “We’re looking for you.”
The police are also cracking down on motorcycle-riding criminals.
Senior Supt. Marcelo Garbo, deputy director for operations of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas, yesterday met with members of city and provincial police offices to give more instructions regarding Task Force Motorcycle.
Police officials were silent about the meeting yesterday.
