Cebu's wedding of the year will have two receptions.

Liloan Mayor Duke Frasco and lawyer Esperanza Christina Codilla will first hold the reception at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) in Mandaue City after they exchange their vows at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral in downtown Cebu City on Aug. 8.

Frasco said they selected the CICC because it is spacious enough to accommodate their guests.

Holding the wedding reception at the CICC is also in recognition of his future mother-in-law, Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia who had the structure built in time for the 12the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit in January 2007, he added.

Another reception will be held in Liloan town on Aug. 9 for their friends and supporters. ?We are now very busy with the preparations because we are a little bit behind in our planning,? he said.

?I'm very excited and a little stressed but I'm sure that everything will be okay when the big day comes,? he added.

Frasco said that while they are busy in the wedding preparation, their friends and relatives advised them to ?first enjoy ourselves before we have kids.?

The first-term Liloan mayor said he let Codilla closely work with their wedding coordinator and finalize their lists of sponsors and guests since Aug. 8 will be her ?big day?.

One of their wedding sponsors is former president Joseph Estrada, a close family friend of the Frascos.

?About 98 percent of the wedding preparations are done by her (Codilla) because it's going to be her big day. I've told her that I'll just take care of the honeymoon,? Frasco told .

Frasco said he wanted to focus on the need to renovate a portion of their ancestral home in Liloan ?to make sure that it's fit for my queen.?

He said he needed a bigger closet space for his bride.

Frasco, 28, said he first met Codilla, 27, in July 2007 at the Capitol to witness the oath-taking ceremony of provincial officials led by Governor Garcia.

?My jaw dropped when I saw her in her orange Cary Santiago gown,? Frasco recalled.

He said that he was ushered to the governor's office to pay his courtesy to Garcia.

Members of the Garcia family including Codilla were at the governor's office then, waiting for the oath-taking ceremony to start.

Frasco said he could barely speak when he was introduced to Codilla by her uncle Marlon Garcia.

Since then, they started to date and became exclusive a month later.

Frasco said it was a blessing that he decided to return to Cebu and run for Liloan mayor after staying 20 years in the United States where he grew up and studied. He would just visit Liloan for his annual vacation.
