CEBU CITY, Philippines ? There is no need to worry about the health of Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal.

Father Mhar Balili, Vidal?s secretary, gave the assurance on Sunday following reports that Vidal experienced neck pains due to the hectic schedule of the full nine-days of Misa de Gallo.

Vidal officiated the nine dawn Masses in different parishes in Metro Cebu.

Balili said there was nothing to worry about Vidal's health because despite the pain, he continues to receive visitors at the Archbishop's Palace on D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City after the Christmas Day celebration.

Balili, however, said Cardinal Vidal was resting after the Misa de Gallo Masses.

He clarified though that Vidal was extending his sleeping time to make up for the days that he woke up early to celebrate the dawn masses.

He said the Cardinal would spend the time resting if he had no activities scheduled for the day.

?It?s not alarming. Di angayan kuyawan ta kay it is normal nga mopahuway ang Cardinal (We should not be worried because it is but normal for the Cardinal to rest),? Balili said.

Balili assured that Cardinal Vidal will attend the scheduled New Year?s eve Mass at the Archbishop Palace on December 31.

He will also attend the Christmas party for the clergies in Cebu at the San Carlos Seminary on December 30. /Correspondent Chris A. Ligan
