CEBU CITY, Philippines - A supplemental budget worth P59 million by the Cebu City government will finance the acquisition of buses for Cebu City's north district and assorted equipment.
In Monday?s budget hearing by the Cebu City Council, Councilor Jose Daluz III said they will source P23 million from the city's general funds and P36 million from special accounts to purchase the buses worth P28 million.
He said the buses were part of an agreement with Representative Raul del Mar of Cebu City?s north district, who promised to provide various projects to Cebu City in exchange for buses in the north district.
Part of the supplemental budget will be allocated to the Department of Engineering and Public Works to buy heavy equipment, including four mini-dumptrucks worth P10 million. /Correspondent JV Cuizon
