An ocular inspection will be conducted on the portion of Vicente Sotto Street, Cebu City where lawyer Richard “Dick” Sison was gunned down last May 21.

Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Soliver Peras of Branch 10 gave the order following confusion over the testimony given by 25-year-old prosecution witness Crisanto Logasca who claimed to have spotted accused security guard Nemuel Sumabong shoot the lawyer.

The judge said he wanted to visit the area on Oct. 22 to determine the exact position where Sison's Toyota Hilux pickup was located when he was shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman.

He said he also wanted to know how far the lawyer's vehicle was from Logasca, who was using a car nozzle inside the Gedion Calibration work area at the time of the shooting.

During yesterday's court hearing, Logasca testified that he was 10 to 12 meters away from the crime scene.

He said he saw through the glass windows of his work area a speeding black sedan pass through the area twice and head for the port area at 11 a.m.

A white Hilux pickup driven by Sison stopped in front of their workplace a few minutes later, the witnesss said.

The witness said he saw a man standing 5'3” tall get off a motorcycle and walk to the pickup with his head bowed.

The man approached the right side and looked into the car window before moving to the left side.

The man appeared to carry something under his clothes, Logasca said.

The gunman fired several shots at the driver’s side where Sison was seated, before walking to a waiting motorcycle. He paused to make sure his target was dead.

Logasca said it was at that time that he saw Sumabong's face. However, the witness failed to describe what the gunman wore when he was asked by defense lawyer Wendell Quiban.

Some confusion ensued when the witness insisted that Sison's vehicle was situated at the rightmost lane of the two-lane V. Sotto Street.

Logasca sketched the location of his workplace, the victim’s vehicle, the gunman, and getaway motorbike.

Judge Peras asked Logasca thrice if he was certain of his sketch, which the latter affirmed.
