THE 39-year-old patient, who was the victim in the Black Suede scandal at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC), will again face another House inquiry on Tuesday.

Danilo (not his real name) will be accompanied by his lawyers as he again will tell his story to the congressmen at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.

The first House inquiry was done on May 30 in Cebu City.

Danilo will again give details about how he was subjected to humiliation during an operation to remove a perfume canister intentionally inserted by a male partner during a sexual encounter on New Year's eve.

Ernie Edralin, spokesman of Akbayan in Cebu, said the group's office confirmed Danilo's attendance for the 9 a.m. Sept. 23 hearing.

The VSMMC officials headed by director Gerardo Aquino will also attend the hearing.

Rep. Lorenzo Tañada, chairman of the House committee on human rights, invited the hospital officials.

The committee also asked for copies of the hospital's report of their investigation on the scandal which hit the hospital a few months after the Jan. 3 operation.

"In fact, we have already received the copies of their investigation reports earlier submitted to the Department of Health and Civil Service Commission", Edralin said.

The House committees on Health and Civil Service will also attend the hearing.

The investigation was based on House resolution 524 directing the committees on human rights and civil service to conduct an inquiry, which will be useful for the passage of the anti-discrimination bill authored by Akbayan Rep. Risa Hontiveros-Baraquel.

Edralin said the three committees did not invite the doctors and nurses involved in the scandal because the purpose of the investigation is not find the culprits but to help prevent future incidents similar to this.

Edralin said the fare for the invited personalities including Danilo will be shouldered by the committee on human rights.

Danilo earlier claimed that he was unaware that the video was taken during the operation.
The video was uploaded in the YouTube.

Two doctors and one nurse were slapped with three month preventive suspension by the Department of Health.

But after the expiration of the suspension, the three have returned back to the hospital.
