CEBU CITY, Philippines ? Seven high school students were detained at the police station on Monday in Argao town, Cebu, after a policeman chanced upon them drinking and allegedly recording a sex video in an abandoned building while classes were supposed to be ongoing.
About 2 p.m., Senior Police Officer 1 Emmanuel Flores of the Regional Mobile Group went to check reports of those residing near the building that there was something fishy happening in the area, said Police Officer 1 Bernie Lao of the Argao police.
When Flores entered the building, he caught one of the young men recording a video on his cell phone.
Flores confiscated the cell phone but the young man grabbed it back and hurriedly tinkered with it.
When Flores managed to get hold of the cell phone again, he found no footage of what he suspected to be a sex video on the phone.
Although most of the teenagers in the building were able to escape when Flores entered, he apprehended four boys and three girls, whom he turned over to the Argao police station.
They were all high school students of the Colawin Extension Public High School in Argao.
Lao said the Argao policemen were not able to interrogate the seven, being minors.
Also, there was no evidence to solidify Flores' suspicion that they were taping a sex video.
The seven were later picked up by their school's principal, who promised to reprimand the erring students.
