THE Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board in Central Visayas (LTFRB-7) will continue to issue fare matrices today.
But unlike the previous week, where for one whole week the office designated three personnel for each of the three sections, only one person will now handle each section.
This means that only there will only be one worker as cashier, in charge of the releasing and verification in issuing the fare matrices.
LTFRB-7 Information Officer Eugenio “Dondon” Ibo said the regional office has already issued 70 percent of the fare matrices to each PUJ route in Cebu province.
He said that the mobile offices of LTFRB in Bohol and other provinces in the region have also been doing overtime work yesterday and would no longer give out fare matrices today.
He, however, has not yet received any report from personnel assigned in the mobile offices and cannot tell if they have to resume transactions on Monday.
But Ibo said he expects that in provinces like Bohol, where there are about 2,000 PUJ units, a few would come to process their fare matrices.
Ibo said they have no time frame in giving out fare matrices. PUJ drivers and operators can come into their office anytime and process their matrices. They will release fare matrices until another fare increase will be implemented.
“Di man gud na giingon nga maundang gyud ang pag-release sa matrices, naa ra man na kanunay kay naa man puy uban nga mawala ilang matrices, mangayo sila’g copy sa office (Fare matrices will continue to be issued because there are still others who did not get their matrices),” said Ibo.
Ibo also said that nobody went for the installment mode of payment for fare matrices since it was allowed last Wednesday. Ibo said that everyone claimed their fare matrices and paid them in full.
The LTFRB-7 allowed the installment mode of payment for matrices to accommodate those with no funds to get their own fare matrix.
PUJ drivers and operators can pay P50 in advance and the rest in three installments until Sept. 1.
Ibo also said that there has been no release of fare matrices for buses and no one has processed for a fare matrix for buses.
He said the office has tolerated it (absence of fare matrix) since the buses are asking fare from passengers less than what was allowed and approved by the LTFRB.
The LTFRB head office had allowed the buses to collect P9 for the first five kilometers and P1.40 for each succeeding kilometer. But the Provincial Buses Operators Association (PBOA) decided to collect only P8 for the first 5 kilometers and P1.20 for each succeeding kilometer because of the stiff competition among buses.
Meanwhile, LTFRB-7 has not yet received any guideline regarding the add-on stickers for taxis, but LTFRB-7 Regional Director Romulo Bernardes, who is currently in Davao for a conference, said in a phone interview that the stickers will come this Tuesday or Wednesday.
He also said that in order to get the stickers, taxi drivers and operators must file a filing fee of P510, P10 pesos for the legal research fund, and P100 for miscellaneous administrative costs.
The stickers will be distributed as soon as it arrives in the office.
