CEBU CITY, Philippines - ?The play was beautiful and it showed Filipino history,? a Dutch tourist said after watching Sunday?s Kadaugan sa Mactan reenactment.

Verktro, who loves to travel and experience other countries? cultures, went with her husband to Mactan to watch the reenactment.

?It?s so cool,? said two students from Kentucky, USA who are in Cebu for a school activity.

?We don?t do stuffs like this in America,? they said.

Chelsea Foltz and Jessica Rodgers, who were sent to Cebu to observe the environment, lifestyle and culture of the people, said they were fascinated with the presentation. Foltz said she may even come back next time and bring her family.

While foreign tourists focused on the event and its historical aspect, a number of local tourists and residents of Lapu-Lapu City, however, flocked to Mactan to watch boxing champion Manny Pacquiao perform.

Pacquiao plays the part of chieftain Lapu-Lapu.

Manong Teodoro Mariano, one of the spectators from Cebu City was dismayed, however.

He complained about crowd management but said he was impressed with the reenactment.
