DRUG BUY-BUST

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PEDEA) seized at least 65 packs of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation Thursday afternoon in barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

Emo Aying was arrested after handing three packs of shabu worth P500 to a PEDEA agent.

The team headed by Ruenell ?Butch? Montenegro went to the area after they received reports that Aying is a big-time drug pusher.

A poseur buyer then bought three packs of suspected shabu from the suspect and made a prearranged signal to a backup team. Aying was arrested after receiving the marked money.

POLICE WARNS BANKS

Policemen in Metro Cebu warned banks to check their surroundings for possible robbers planning to victimize their establishments.

After a bank in Zambales was ransacked last week, Senior Supt. Erson Digal, chief of Cebu Provincial Office (CCPO), said yesterday that he ordered his men to check all banks here in Cebu.

The Zambales robbers entered the bank through a tunnel they dug for a month.

Senior Insp. Bonifacio Garciano, chief of Theft and Robbery Section (TSR), said they have conducted constant warning to all bank managements.

But he said that public cooperation is needed.

According to him, it is possible that the robbers in Zambales are the same men who were arrested last month here in Metro Cebu.

Garciano said the group is well financed./CHITO ARAGON

DRAG NET

Policemen in Metro Cebu have implemented a Drag Net, another term for Oplan Universe.

Chiefs of city and provincial police offices in Metro Cebu met yesterday for its implementation.

Oplan Universe or Drag Net aims to create a cooperative relationship between police offices, where they would be helping one another in the pursuit of criminals.

Senior Supt. Erson Digal, chief of Cebu provincial Police Office (CPPO), said the program is useful in solving crimes.

Digal said it is standard operating procedure that all police offices would respond anytime an incident needs a follow-up operation./CHITO ARAGON
