THE Mandaue City Jail will seek advice from their legal counsel to fast-track the examination of the beverages which believed to have cause two detainees to fall ill.
Senior Insp. Jose Rusylvi Abueva, warden of the Mandaue City jail, said they would ask their legal counsel on what to do next after the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) declined to examine the three bottles of C2 and Sunkist juices which downed couple-detainees Maritess ?Barbie? Velasco and her husband Jonhjoy ?JB? Palo-palo.
Velasco and Palo-Palo are two of the five suspects in the slay-attempt of businesswoman Debbie Yu.
Velasco and Palo-Palo were hospitalized after they drank juices given by Velasco's mother.
Abueva said the BFAD told them that they didn't have the capacity to examine the juices and instead referred them to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The three bottles were sent to the DOST yesterday but Abueva said the agency could not determine if there was poison in the juices.
Abueve said the DOST would test the juices to determine if they were contaminated.
