A HABAL-HABAL driver accused a police informant of mauling him in barangay Pung-ol Sibugay, Cebu City.
Diesher Diez, 23, showed up at the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) with a gash in the face allegedly inflicted by Ramelo Umpad, a member of the Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN).
Diez said he was sending a passenger to barangay Pung-ol Sibugay about 7 a.m. yesterday when Umpad blocked his path.
Diez said the police informant confronted him and punched him in the face for no apparent reason.
Diez said he tried to fight back but backed down when he saw Umpad appeared to have drew something from his waist.
Diez said he was surprised with the attack since he and Umpad had no conflicts.
Diez reported the incident at the Pung-ol Sibugay barangay hall and then went to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) to secure a medical certificate.
He was advised to file charges against Umpad, who reportedly worked in Cebu City Hall as a driver.
