TWO sexy actresses, and an actor-model, who were involved in the controversial 2009 bikini show in Bantayan island during Holy Week are still under threat of being arrested.
They failed to post bail on charges of violating the Revised Penal Code on indecent shows.
Maureen Anne Rodriguez ?also known as Maui Taylor?, Jennifer Lee, and Paolo Paraiso have not yet posted their bail of P24,000 each in court.
Regional Trial Court Judge Antonio Maringomen of Branch 61 of Bogo City issued arrest warrants two weeks ago against the three show business personalities, organizers and the beach resort owner.
The other respondents - beach resort owner Rommel Salomon, the show's organizer Eugene Tio, Mercury Gumera and Asuncion Floro - have already posted bail.
Rey Caayon, clerk of court of the Bogo City RTC Branch 61, said Gumera and Tio posted bail last Friday while Floro availed of temporary liberty yesterday.
Taylor, Lee, Paraiso and the other respondents faced a P12,000 fine and prison term it they are convicted of violating the law on indecent shows, which is defined as a show that serves no other purpose but to satisfy the market for violence, lust or pornography.
The case is separate from another case the respondents are facing at the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) in Bantayan town for violating a Cebu provincial and municipal ordinance that prohibits activities that degrade the dignity of women.
Taylor, Lee and the other accused posted bail for the MCTC case in November last year.
The controversial bikini event happened from 8 p.m. of April 11 until dawn of April 12 ? Black Saturday and Easter Sunday.
Cebu province and town officials criticized the show and had charges filed.
Last Feb. 18, Taylor and Lee issued a public apology to the Cebuanos for the show after a meeting with Gov. Gwen Garcia.
