Police officials in Cebu province plan to replace the police chief of Minglanilla town with Chief Inspector Jovito Canlapan of San Fernando town.
The recommendation was made to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) by Senior Supt. Erson Digal, chief of the Cebu Provincial Police Office.
Minglailla Inspector Lencio Baliguat Jr., will be assigned to the Provincial Security and Service Group if the proposal is approved.
Baliguat was charged with serious neglect of duty for not being around to supervise his men when the convoy of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo passed through the town to attend the burial of Press Secretary Cerge Remonde last Jan. 24.
