Unlike in her three previous arrests, Chueve Lim, tagged by police as ?shabu queen?, will have to stay in jail while trying to prove her innocence on drug charges.

The Cebu City Prosecutors' Office recommended no bail for Lim and her friend, Edna Flores, who were charged with illegal possession and sale of shabu before the Regional Trial Court yesterday.

Lim was charged for selling 4.89 grams of big plastic packs of suspected shabu and 1.74 medium packs of shabu.

Lim and Flores were also charged for selling 4. 42 grams of shabu.

The two were officially charged before the Regional Trial Court yesterday.

Flores was also charged for selling 0.18 grams of shabu. A bail of P200,000 was recommended for the offense.

The two accused were committed at the Cebu City Jail.

The two women were arrested in a buy-bust operation in barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City on Wednesday night.

Under Sec. 5, Art. 2 of the Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002, a person who sells, delivers or distributes a dangerous drug, regardless of the quantity and purity involved, faces a penalty of life imprisonment or death, which can be an unbailable offense if evidence of guilt is strong.

It was the fourth time that Lim was arrested on drug charges, said police.

On Feb. 2008, Lim and her friend Grace Alejandrino were arrested by police during a raid in Aljeandrino?s home in Quimada Street, barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Lim was allowed to post bail because less than three grams of shabu were confiscated from her.

Alejandrino was not allowed to post bail since the bulk of the drugs, worth about P1 million, were recovered in her home.
