A 78-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead allegedly by his neighbor following an argument inside the barangay hall of Cansabusab in Poro town on Camotes Island, Cebu.
Modesto Muana Borla Sr., a widower, died of gunshot wounds in the chest and stomach, said police.
The suspect in the shooting Christian Joy Borla, 23, remains at large, said police.
Police said the two were brought to the barangay hall on Friday morning to settle their differences.
Cansabusab barangay captain Luisa Solano was with the two men during the settlement.
The settlement, however, went futile as the two continued to argue at the barangay hall.
While arguing, Christian Joy left.
He returned moments already armed with a handgun and shot Modesto.
The suspect fled after the shooting.
Modesto was rushed to the municipal health clinic but was declared dead by Dr. Mabel Huete.
A hot pursuit operation against the suspect is ongoing, said police./CORRESPONDENT JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
