A BUSINESSWOMAN was wounded while her bodyguard was killed when they were waylaid by unidentified gunmen along a road in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday afternoon.
Martitess Amit and Allan Berame both suffered gunshot wounds in the body.
Berame died about an hour after they were brought to the the Mactan Doctor's Hospital.
Police have yet to determine the motive of the shooting.
In a report over dyAB, Amit and Berami were on board a car when they were attacked about 3 p.m.
When the victim's vehicle stopped in front of a fastfood chain, a motorcycle boarded by two men stopped near them and opened fire.
The report said Maritess was a casino financier and had received death threats days before the attack.
