A man was killed while his friend was wounded on Sunday night when they were shot allegedly by their neighbor in barangay Langtad, Naga City, southern Cebu.
Reynaldo Baricuatro, 31, died of three gunshot wounds in the head. Rainer Torion, 19, was wounded in the left leg.
The suspect in the shooting, Francisco Bastesmo, 25, was arrested at home in a follow-up police operation.
Based on the police investigation, Baricuatro and Torion were drinking in a store past 8 p.m. when the suspect arrived and bought cigarette.
Baricuatro and Bastesmo had an argument that led to a fistfight.
Torion pacified the two men and Bastesmo left afterwards.
Baricuatro and Torion decided to go home but met Bastesmo on board a motorcycle along a road.
When their path crossed, Bastesmo allegedly shot Baricuatro several times, said SPO2 Ken Cabrera of Naga City police station.
Torion was hit in the leg but still managed to run to the police station and reported the incident.
Investigators said investigation showed that the .357 revolver used in the shooting was owned by the suspect's friend identified only as Romero.
Police said murder and frustrated murder charges will be filed against Bastesmo.
