THREE persons were hurt when two men figured in a shootout in barangay Poblacion, Danao City, northern Cebu on Saturday.

Two of those hurt, siblings Lucille Ann Bontoyan Layong, 27, and Naneth Bontoyan, 26, were hit by stray bullets.

Also wounded was Roel Arnado, 26, a trisikad driver who was involved in the shootout.

SPO4 Edgar Gomez of Danao City Police Station said Arnado and a certain Jessie of barangay Suba were seen arguing outside the Prince Warehouse Club at 7:55 p.m.

The cause of the fight was not immediately known.

While arguing, Arnado pulled out an improvised firearm, shot Jessie twice but missed.

The bullets, however, hit the two sisters, who were inside the store during the incident. The two siblings sustained gunshot wounds in their legs.

Jessie retaliated by shooting Arnado in the face.

Jessie fled after the incident.

The three wounded persons were rushed to the Danao District Hospital. Arnado was later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City.

An empty shell of a 12-gauge shotgun were recovered outside the store./CORRESPONDENT CHRIS A. LIGAN
