A 23-YEAR-OLD old man died after he was hit by a passenger bus while crossing a highway in barangay Valldolid, Carcar City, southern Cebu on Wednesday morning.
Rusty 'Jimboy' Fortunio of sitio Kalubihan Kamagayan, barangay Perrelos, Carcar City, died of severe injuries in the body.
He was hit by a Librando bus (GXE-565) driven by Ramonito Escuadro, 39, of barangay Banlaan, Dumanjug, Cebu.
Police said the bus was headed to Cebu City when it hit the man.
The driver reportedly was unable to notice the victim since the area was dark.
Escuadro surrendered to police. Charges of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide are being readied against him.
